Verification did not re-fetch that figure from Maya’s own site, so it carries less weight than the GCash schedule above, which was read directly. |
Maya states these as MONTHLY wallet limits. GCash puts its limit as the balance carried at a particular time. It is often presented as a comparison, but a side-by-side of the two numbers is not meaningful because they measure different things.
The numbers on this page were recorded in 2026-09 and reflect that moment only. Payment providers can change limits and fees at any time with no warning, so only the provider’s own page shows what is current.
Verification tiers
- Basic — There is a PHP 50,000 monthly limit on the wallet and a PHP 50,000 daily limit on purchases. Users at this tier lose access to InstaPay bank transfers and to sending to other Maya users
- Upgraded — Three things are needed: a video selfie, valid ID and a verified address. Limits are a PHP 100,000 monthly wallet cap, purchases to PHP 100,000 per day, sending to a Maya user at no more than PHP 20,000 per transaction and PHP 100,000 per day, and InstaPay out at PHP 50,000 per day with PHP 100,000 per month
- Super Users — PHP 500,000 is the monthly wallet limit, and it is also the daily limit for purchases and for sends. Maya leaves what qualifies an account for this tier undisclosed
- Ultimate Users — The monthly wallet ceiling is PHP 5,000,000, and purchases and sends have a daily ceiling of PHP 5,000,000. Maya leaves what qualifies an account for this tier undisclosed
The published ceiling of Moving up from PHP 50,000 monthly at Basic, the limit is PHP 100,000 for Upgraded, PHP 500,000 for Super Users and PHP 5,000,000 for Ultimate Users applies to the tier stated above, not to every account.
What Maya says about gambling transactions
Direct reading of Maya’s e-wallet terms and conditions shows general prohibitions on illegal activity and anti-money-laundering breaches, with no gambling clause. It is the CREDIT CARD terms, for a separate product, that do list ‘illegal gambling or unauthorized game of chance’ as restricted; the stated consequence is suspension or cancellation of the card. Maya was covered by BSP Memorandum M-2025-029 too, in August 2025, and removed the gambling and gaming links inside its app in response. There is a real difference between the two products, and a credit card agreement’s restriction does not extend to the wallet.
How fast money actually moves
Maya settles immediately when the rail is wallet-to-wallet or InstaPay, and the same banking day when it is PESONet. This explains the payment rail and not the casino, because an operator may keep a withdrawal for its own review before Maya ever sees it, and most of the waiting usually comes from that review.
A per-transaction cap of On the Upgraded tier, a limit of PHP 20,000 per transaction applies to Maya-to-Maya sends and PHP 50,000 per day to InstaPay transfers out applies, which is why a larger transfer sometimes has to be split.
