888JILI Private Browsing Safari — What It Hides on a Shared Phone

Private browsing Safari and Incognito in Chrome do one job: they stop a shared phone from keeping a record of where you went. They do not make you invisible to the sites you open or to the network you use. This page sorts what each hides and what stays visible, so you can set the phone up before you open the lobby from the browser on your phone.

What private browsing hides and what it does not

Apple says Private Browsing opens private tabs that do not appear in History on iPhone or in the list of tabs on your other devices, even if you are signed in to the same Apple Account. Google says Incognito limits what Chrome saves to your device and that the session ends when you close all Incognito windows. Neither one hides your activity from outside the phone.

Private browsing Safari on iPhone

Apple’s iPhone guide says that if a passcode is set, Private Browsing locks when it is not in use. Follow the steps in order.

1. Open the Safari app.
2. Tap the tabs icon.
3. Swipe right on the tab bar at the bottom until Private Browsing opens, then confirm with your passcode or Face ID prompt.
4. To leave, tap the tabs icon and swipe left to open a Tab Group from the menu at the bottom. Your private tabs stay open and locked.
5. To make it lock, open Settings, then Apps, then Safari, and turn on the Require option for Private Browsing that matches your phone (passcode, Face ID or Touch ID).

Chrome Incognito mode on Android and iPhone

Google’s help says Chrome Incognito mode starts a separate browsing session. Chrome does not automatically sign you in, and when the session ends it does not retain site data or a record of the sites you visited.

1. On Android, open Chrome, tap More, then tap Open in a new Incognito window.
2. On iPhone, open the Chrome app, tap More, then tap New Incognito Tab.
3. To lock on Android, tap More, Settings, Privacy and security, and turn on Lock Incognito windows when you leave Chrome.
4. To lock on iPhone, tap More, Settings, Privacy and security, then Hide Incognito tabs, and pick Lock immediately with device authentication, Hide after a few minutes or Don’t hide.
5. To close, close all Incognito tabs. On Android, tap More, then Close all Incognito tabs.

What neither one hides

A private tab is local. Google says websites, including Google sites, and the organizations that manage your network may be able to observe your activity in Incognito. Apple’s Private Browsing keeps tabs out of History, but it does not claim to change what a website or a network sees.

For the lobby this means three things.

1. The account keeps its own records. The help centre says game history sits under the member menu’s betting record, and the transaction record shows 30 days.
2. Files you download and bookmarks you add stay on the phone after you close the tab.
3. A connection you do not control sees the connection, so read about public wifi and logins before you sign in on a shared network.

A routine for a phone other people use

Run this list every time you hand the phone back.

1. Open a private tab before you open the lobby, not after.
2. Log out of the lobby when you finish.
3. Close every private tab and, in Safari, confirm the lock is on.
4. Check that no file you downloaded is left in the phone’s Files or Downloads.
5. Keep the lobby’s two passwords out of anything saved in a shared notes app.
